One To Watch: Coasts

Coasts are a rock band, originally from Bristol, that I have been loving for most of last year into this year. The band's eagerly awaited debut self-titled album is due to be released on 22 January 2016, including tracks such as A Rush Of Blood and You.

Coasts, for me, capture the element of old raw sounding rock music whilst giving it a modern twist which gives it the appeal to such a large audience. Their tracks often begin with a slower tempo and sound much calmer before kicking up the tempo and layering for the chorus - the momentum from this is then carried on through the rest of the song. A good example of this is A Rush Of Blood;

Modern Love, one of Coasts' most recent singles, uses more of an electronic element through use of synths but the track still maintains the rawness that longterm fans of the band will remember from previous singles such as Wallow*. Their track Oceans made it onto the Made in Chelsea soundtrack, drawing more attention to the band and growing their fanbase.

I'm really hoping that Coasts begin to get more recognition for their music and continue to release brilliant track as a result. I also hope to see them live in the future.
