Album Review: Ones And Zeros [8]

I've had this album on my iPod for quite some time and finally got round to listening to it over the past few months. I have found myself flipping between Don Broco's new album Automatic as well as Ones And Zeros. Both of these albums have reminded me about the things I love in rock music as I have been growing a bit distant from it recently.
Young Guns are a band that seem to remind me of the bands I used to listen to as a child and therefore takes me back to recapture those moments - I'd say that they remind me of The Killers but that's just my opinion.
A large amount of the songs on the album sit well with me, especially Memento Mori, I Want Out and Daylight. Those that don't are simply because I don't see myself going straight towards them but listening to the tracks I have listed above instead.
I Want Out was one of the singles released from the album and ultimately the first track that I listened to by Young Guns. The track is much softer than Daylight but it is always good to have variation between tracks to keep things interesting. I love the lyrics to I Want Out, especially as I have been finding them very relatable but also because I think that it is a great song to sing along to.
Daylight is a hard hitting track that captures the rawness that I have mentioned so many times that I love about rock music. I also love that you can hear the strings from an orchestra as well as there being the more traditional instruments that you would find in a rock track. Despite being one of the heavier tracks on the album, I would still say that it is very easy to listen to in all situations.
I'd definitely recommend this album if The Killers are your type of band!
